Our Mission:
The mission at Wohlwend Elementary School is to prepare students of character for life-long learning.
Our Vision:
Our vision is to develop independent critical thinkers who are able to achieve their highest academic potential in a safe and secure environment.
Building and Facility
Wohlwend was built in 1969 after former State Representative Clarence J. Wohlwend. The two-story building sits on 29 acres and shares a campus with Oakville Middle School. The school is completely air-conditioned and is handicapped-accessible with an elevator and ramps.
Technology
Wohlwend has been working hard to keep updated with technology. Teachers have a newly installed Dell computer and 4 new student computers in each classroom. The computer lab is equipped with 28 Gateway computers. Wohlwend has 3 smart boards and projectors, scanners, and a new color printer on each floor. There is a TV with DVD player in all of the classrooms. Wohlwend also has a digital camera for each grade level to use for classroom/school events. We televise our announcements through a modulator. We also incorporate Reading Counts, a reading incentive program, into our technology curriculum. Our Technology Committee works continuously to improve and update software. Our parent organizations hold fundraisers to help purchase hardware and software.
